What this site does
Send Focus lets a parent see the screen of a computer they own, during the hours they choose, and send a FOCUS reminder to that computer. This page describes the copy of Send Focus running at this website.
Who the account belongs to
The account belongs to the parent who signs in. Install the Windows program only on a computer you own or are allowed to monitor. The shield in the tray shows that monitoring is on.
Account
If you sign in with email, we store your name, email, and a password hash. We do not store the password itself. If you sign in with Google, we store the name, email, and account id Google sends us. Google's own privacy policy covers what Google collects during that sign-in.
The school computer
While the program is running, that computer can send:
The computer's name, the open app, and the window or browser-tab title.
A check-in of the screen when the window changes, on a timer, or when you press Check-in.
Whether school hours are on, and the block and ignore rules you saved.
A parent password, stored as a hash, used only to quit the program.
Check-ins
Seven-day cleanup is coded, but the automatic cleanup schedule and removal from backups have not been verified. You can delete check-ins from active Send Focus storage in Settings. The code also attempts to remove matching Discord messages, but that removal has not been integration-tested and copies may remain.
A check-in shows whatever is on the screen, including chats, schoolwork, or anything else that is open.
Discord
Discord alerts are optional. The dashboard uses a shared Send Focus bot and Discord authorization (OAuth). The coded setup stores connection details and the chosen server and channel so the bot can post check-ins. Parents do not need to paste a bot token. This connection and message delivery have not yet been integration-tested. People with access to the chosen channel can see posted check-ins.
Who can see it
Your dashboard is private to your sign-in. We do not sell this information. The site operator can access the server because they host it. People you invite into the Discord channel can see what was posted there.
How long it is kept
Automatic seven-day check-in cleanup and backup removal remain unverified. Your account, computer names, rules, and Discord settings stay until you remove them or ask the site operator to delete the account.
